ARSSU HOLDS 4TH EDITION OF ‘ARSSU LADIES SUMMIT’

The student union of the Church of Apostles Revelation Society, ARSSU, held the 4th edition of the ARSSU Ladies Summit at the SRC Conference Hall, Legon.

This year’s summit was educative as all the invited speakers took their turns to enlighten participants on the theme “Women in Church Building: The Role of the ARSSU Lady” and other essential topics.

Throwing more light on the theme, Bishop Verliane Wovenu explained that, ‘It is significant to note that, culture and society has various perceptions about who a woman is and subsequently her role in building the Church of God. She made reference to Proverbs 31:30 which states that ‘Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised’.

She also made reference to one of Prophet CKN Wovenu’s book which states that ‘It is the avowed aim and objective of the ARS, the new Generation of God, to fight the right, falsehood, deviations and variations perpetuated by Satan’s evil mechanizations. This is to win back or restore the moral virtues of God’s glory. In this regard, the Church’s hierarchy resolutely objects to pre-marital sex, fornication, concubinage by devout member or Christian for that matter.

Mrs. Judith Attipoe, giving her presentation on the theme, also touched on the value of a virtuous woman. She asked the participants that as ladies, what role did they play as women in respect to the Mother’s day celebration.

She further advised the ladies to be comforters to their partners, prayerful and imitate the lifestyle of Hannah in the Bible.

Concluding on her message, she added that, Scarfing should be part of a prayerful woman because 1 Corinthians 11:3 -6 made it clear that Christ is the head of the Church and prayers will not be heard without scarfing. She advised that God showers his blessings on you when you appreciate someone and these are the lifestyle ARSSU Ladies are supposed to portray.

Speaking on the topic ‘Healthy Women in Leadership’, Miss Robella Edith Akpi, a professional nurse touched on the various segment of human characteristics that affect our daily lives either positively or negatively. She spoke generally on hygiene where she emphasized menstrual hygiene, personal cleanliness, mental health and the importance of regular medical check ups at any available health facility.

The event came to an end with an exclusive practical training on how to make liquid soap.
