A Recap of Sabbath Activities at ARS 79th Anniversary

Sabbath Activities

It was a business again as usual on Sunday morning, as early as 3:30am as the traditional drum of the church sounded to usher in the Sabbath. This drum gives out the many names and appellations of the Most High God and also calling out members for prayers. Church choirs went on procession through the principal streets and corners of the Tadzewu township amid highly melodious songs that could soothe weary souls.
Church service actually begun at exactly 10:30am. The former President of the Republic of Ghana, HE John Dramani Mahama graced the occasion. Chiefs, Queen mothers and other invited guests from far and near were in attendance. The former President spoke to the congregants amid wild shouts from the celebrants.
Choirs were called upon to minister songs, which they did with much passion and enthusiasm. Some drumming groups were also called to entertain the congregation.
Service came to a close and the celebrants went home in joy and in much renewed spirits.
Later in the evening around 4:00pm, there came the usual annual ARS Students Union (ARSSU) procession. This is to create an awareness and also to evangelise about the association to the youth in the higher institutions to depict the slogan of the union (Forward with the Gospel). The procession came to an end at the Tadzewu Basic School Park, where the President of the association and some other leaders gave talks to the crowds amid cheers from the crowd.
