The Madina Region of the Church of Apostles Revelation Society brought Madina and it’s suburbs to a standstill during its 10th Choral festival celebration yesterday.
The celebration brought together 12 main choirs and two youth choirs from the various branches of the church.
The Branches included, Nungua, Kpone Bawalewshie, Pantang Nyamekrom, Fafraha, Ashale Botwe, Madina Central, Teshie, Adenta, Haatso, East Legon, Madina Main , Madina Youth Choir and Adenta Youth Choir.
The Sabbath service was brief and concise with Rev. Agbo preaching on an extract from Mawu Fea Ame’s miscellaneous writings : What are the seven actions and conducts of the anointed person?
The 7th one says; “That I should strictly observe all Sundays and Christian festivals, and differentiate between clean and unclean foods” with short musical interlude from the Madina Region Mass Choir Singing “Maheto Vevie na Ame wo” composed by Mr Isaac Xoakpe Kpodo.
The Chairman for the Occasion was Elder kofi Amerdzekor. He lamented on the members of the Church not supporting the various choirs in respective branches and advised them to treat the choir with special care.
All the choirs in the region sung 3 songs:
A) The ARS Hymn 10 ( Dela Yesu makafu wo)
B) “Oh Worla dudziee mele le yor wom” musically composed by The Music Director, Mr Isaac Xoakpe Kpodo as inspired by the words of a prayer by Prophet CKN Wovenu for people who wake up from nightmares to use in supplication to Yehowa.
C) An optional anthem.
Touching on the Theme, “Music the ladder between the church and the Holy spirit”.
Mr Kpodo explained the relevance of Music in a Christians life and how music sung in truth and spirit touches the throne of Yehowah.
The Regional Pastor of Madina Region RSM C.K. Afortude reminded the all present of the role of Music in the History of the ARS Church that, music is one of the bedrocks of the Church hence must be taken even and regarded in high esteem because it plays a major role in drawing the Church to Yehowah.
The Chairman of the Management Committee of the Madina Region, Dr. Kuttor in a brief speech admonished that, when ever He is going to perform a duty and no choir is present, it makes the occasion incomplete hence all choirs should be looked after and supported well to keep them giving off the best.
The Choral festival is organized every year for the past 10 years to promote and encourage choirs and the congregation to learn the hymns in the ARS hymn book. This is to bring varieties in the songs used during service.
